COLOR FOR BODY
ACNE Studios, 2007
Description
Color for Body presented a series of large-scale monochrome paintings in which colour is freed from narrative or symbolic function. The works appear closer to natural processes than painterly gestures — matte yet intensely luminous surfaces where colour expands into the space and dissolves the image into a diffuse infinity.
At the same time, the paintings contain precise interventions: thick, pastose, foaming bodies of paint applied through controlled but minimal gestures. Traces of the hand are reduced, allowing colour itself to operate as presence rather than representation.
The exhibition also included smaller works from the series Dots – for plexi and Virus (for you), extending the investigation of colour as a physical and bodily experience.
