Karet is a performance centered on the shared significance of heat, water, care, and community—both for humans and for nature. Using a self-built wooden water vessel as its point of departure, the performance sustains warmth and energy over a two-hour period by continuously keeping a fire alive.

Branches gathered from the surrounding area are used as fuel. Warm water is shared with the audience; bodies are warmed, as are the nearby trees. Both participants and trees are wrapped in thermal foil, extending the notion of care beyond the human sphere.

Fire, like the human body, requires constant attention and maintenance in order to remain alive. The performance unfolds as a collective act of sustained care, where warmth becomes both a physical condition and a shared responsibility. the act itself.
